All three authors are given equal status and, unusually, Gerald Jay Sussman is listed first: ジェラルド・ジェイ・サスマン/ハロルド・エイブルソン/ジュリー・サスマン 共著 (Gerald Jay Sussman, Harold Abelson, Julie Sussman).

Wada knew Gerald Sussman from a year spent at MIT in 1973–74. During the translation he mailed his questions to 'Jerry', but the answers consistently came back from Julie, so he switched to corresponding with her directly, and she commented on every draft as the work progressed (translator's afterword).

All figures were redrawn in PostScript by Wada, except figure 5.16, which stayed a bitmap.

The colophon misprints the publisher's name as ピアソンエ・デュケーション (for ピアソン・エデュケーション), as noted by the CiNii cataloguer.

The errata page keys each correction to the printing that fixed it, showing the book had at least three printings by spring 2003.

The digitised version in NDL Digital Collections is viewable only on-site at the National Diet Library.

Bronnikov announced the finished book on 2006-07-20 on the ru-scheme LiveJournal, calling it the product of "долгой-долгой возни и задержек" (long-long toils and delays). The PDF version was available online in 2007; the source is now on GitHub.

He also translated Pierce's Types and Programming Languages (with Alex Ott) and Okasaki's Purely Functional Data Structures into Russian.

  1. The Russian State Library has the wrong ISBN, 5-9713-0072-7. 5-7913 (Dobrosvet) is transposed to 5-9713 (AST Moscow). This incorrect ISBN is often used by retailers to find the book.

Notes

The supervisor, Lee Kwang-keun, used the book as the text for his Principles of Programming (프로그래밍의 원리) course at Seoul National University.

To make the ideas easier to follow, the translators took the unusual step of rendering technical terms in plain, everyday Korean rather than the hard Sino-Korean vocabulary scholars traditionally use. Critics held that the everyday words' plain meaning often diverged from the technical sense, causing confusion (e.g. 'abstraction' was translated as 요약, meaning 'summary'); in 2024 the lead translator, Kim Jaewoo, said "I do not recommend my translation … read the [English] original."
